9 people, three women and six men were tried in Rennes this week for their role in a drug trafficking organization between Finistère in France, Albania, Luxembourg and Spain. Among them, a Brest student named Typhaine, in detention for a year and a half, was sentenced yesterday to 5 years in prison. Another person on the run, named Eduard residing in Spain, was sentenced to 8 years in prison.
According to the public prosecution of Rennes, Typhaine had traveled as far as Spain, Albania and Luxembourg. Investigators caught him loading bags and handing over sums of money to other members of the group.
The dismantling of the Canadian encrypted messaging service "Sky ECC" also made it possible to discover the conversations that showed that the nine suspects, some of whom were of Albanian origin, were importing narcotics from Spain, where "Eduardi", the main protagonist of this case, was currently on the run. He will have to serve 8 years in prison, the day he is arrested. The other defendants were sentenced to probation./BW
