A serious incident has been recorded in France, where an Albanian woman was found without signs of life in her apartment.
A serious incident has shaken the city of Besançon in France, where a 36-year-old Albanian woman was found dead in her apartment. French police have arrested her husband, who is suspected of involvement in the incident.
The 50-year-old was not a stranger to authority, as he had a history of domestic violence against the victim. However, he did not have a restraining order restricting him from contacting her.
According to French media, it was the 50-year-old himself who called the emergency services, accompanied by his daughter. He is believed to be the last person to see the 36-year-old alive, while he has denied any involvement in her death.
Initial investigations indicate that the victim had signs of asphyxia syndrome. According to the Besançon prosecutor's office, this could have been caused "either by taking medication or by the intervention of a third person."
The prosecution has launched an investigation into "spousal homicide", but at this stage investigators say there are still few elements that confirm the femicide case. No signs of a struggle were found in the apartment, nor were there any traces of blood or visible injuries on the victim's body, except for a small mark on the neck, which is not yet considered definitive.
An autopsy and toxicology tests, scheduled for today, are expected to shed more light on the cause of death. The couple, originally from Kosovo and Albania, had several children together. The identity of the victim, or her husband, has not yet been revealed.
