An assassination attempt on 64-year-old Gjovalin Prendi shocked Lezha yesterday evening.
It is known that several people have been taken to the police in connection with this incident, but it is not known whether these are people who are aware of or suspected of being the perpetrators of this incident.
From the dynamics of the event, it is suspected that the perpetrators had accurate information about the victim's movements and the fact that he was in the bar at that moment. The police have conducted searches in various areas of Milot, including the homes of several people with whom the victim's late son had had a confrontation, but have not been able to identify the perpetrators.
The main line of investigation remains that of revenge. Sources from the investigation group indicate that it is suspected that the murder is related to the criminal past of the victim's son, Roan Brahimi, who was executed 1 year ago in Athens in front of his child and wife. He is suspected of being involved in several criminal events.
Roan Brahimi's name was well-known to Albanian justice. He was known as Ervis Martinaj's rival and was accused of being involved in the assassination attempt on Ylli Brahimi, which killed Klisman Preçi.
Roan Brahimi was also wanted by the police for the execution of Brilant Martinaj and his friends, at the Fushë-Krujë overpass, on July 17, 2022.
