
The Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) has left Sokol Mjaçaj, who executed Arben Lleshi in prison on December 15, 2023, in the "41 bis" regime.
Mjaçaj had filed an appeal with the GJKKO in December, requesting the annulment of the decision of the Minister of Justice, who ordered his placement in the “41 Biss” regime. The GJKKO decided to dismiss his request, leaving Mjaçaj in the “41 Biss” regime.
" Rejection of the request of the applicant Sokol Mjaçaj with the object of challenging the decision no. 619, dated 11.12.2024, of the Minister of Justice "On the extension of the period of the special regime in the institution for the execution of high-security criminal decisions, for a period of 1 (one) year, for the prisoner Sokol Mjaçaj" ", states the GJKKO announcement.

The applicant Sokol Mjaçaj, on 23.12.2024, submitted to the Court the request with the subject: "Objection to decision no. 619, dated 11.12.2024, of the Minister of Justice".
At the end of the trial, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime with a panel composed of judge Ardit Mustafaj, based on articles 471 and 480 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and article 17, point 9, of Law No. 81/2020 “On the rights and treatment of prisoners and detainees”, with decision No. 26, dated 30.01.2025, decided: Rejecting the request of the applicant Sokol Mjaçaj with the object of challenging decision No. 619, dated 11.12.2024, of the Minister of Justice “On the extension of the period of the special regime in the institution for the execution of high-security criminal decisions, for a period of 1 (one) year, for the prisoner Sokol Mjaçaj”.
An appeal against the decision is allowed to the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime, within 15 days from the notification of the decision.
