Two people have been arrested by Vlora police during an anti-drug operation after being caught with large quantities of narcotics.
According to the police, citizens Viktor Jaupaj, 53 years old, and Kujtim Metaj, 37 years old, who were transporting narcotics to Vlora, to sell them to other citizens who distributed them in doses, were arrested.
Police have seized about 3.4 kilograms of cocaine and 133 grams of heroin, worth about 810,000 euros.
Viktor Jaupaj and Kujtim Metaj, both from Fier, were caught while driving in the village of Novoselë, inside which 400 grams of cocaine were found. After a search of Viktor Jaupaj's apartment, 2 kg and 979 grams of cocaine and 133 grams of heroin were found. The police also seized 3 electronic scales, 3 mobile phones and the vehicle that these citizens used for transportation.
"The police operation codenamed "VORTEX" is being finalized by the Narcotics Investigation Sector and the Special Operations Force, with the support of intelligence.
They were transporting quantities of narcotics to Vlora, to sell to other citizens who distributed them in doses, and 2 citizens were caught red-handed and put in handcuffs.

Specialists of the Narcotics Investigation Sector, in cooperation with those of the Special Operational Force Sector, of the Vlora Police Department, in continuation of operations to crack down on criminal activities in the field of narcotics, based on information provided by police intelligence, have organized and finalized, after 4 weeks of investigations, the police operation codenamed "VORTEX".
During this operation, citizens VJ, 53 years old, and KM, 37 years old, both residents of Fier, were arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offense of "Production and sale of narcotics."
"The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Vlora, for further action," the police announced.
