The Prosecution of Elbasan has scientifically managed to prove that the person killed on December 15, 2023 in the High Security Prison in Peqin is Arben Lleshi.
While his body is still in the morgue, the Prosecutor's Office and IML were forced to do an expert report due to the claims of the family members, who, after not appearing for several months to retrieve the body, said that it does not belong to Arben Lleshi. The verification was done through fingerprints, and after that the Prosecutor's Office of Elbasan sent the results to the IML to inform the family members about the scientific conclusion.
Sources from the Forensic Medicine confirm the receipt of the conclusions, the family members have been notified as their response will be awaited. We recall that 3 months after the murder, the latter raised a strong claim, stating that they have doubts as to whether the body in the morgue is his. In these conditions, among the never-ending procedures carried out by the Institute of Forensic Medicine and the Prosecution of Elbasan, it was decided to do a DNA test.
For this purpose, the analyzes of the victim's sister and the latter were taken, in order to come to a conclusion. Even under the current circumstances of the case, if the family can refuse again, the burial will be carried out by the Municipality of Mati with the authorization of the Prosecution of Elbasan.
