The border police in Shkodër have seized 2 packages with suspected forged checks, with a total value of 1 million dollars.
Two Italian citizens, 44 and 49 years old, who were traveling in a car where the checks were hidden in its trunk, were arrested.
The undeclared checks were seized as material evidence, together with the vehicle, 1700 euros, stamps and 2 mobile phones.
"The Border Police, in cooperation with DVP Shkodër, hit a case of forgery of securities. Italian citizens RM, 44 years old and CS, 49 years old, were arrested for this case.
As a result of the maximum engagement of the services of the Border Police of PKK Hani i Hoti, for the prevention and attack of border crimes, in addition to the work to provide a quality and ethical service to citizens entering/exiting, a case of forgery of documents with value.
At the exit of the country, the vehicle in which the citizens RM and CS were traveling was passed for control on the second line, in the trunk of which 2 packages with suspected forged checks, worth 2000 dollars each (total value 1 million) were found dollars).
The undeclared checks were seized as material evidence, together with the vehicle, 1700 euros, stamps and 2 mobile phones. The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Shkodër, for further actions," the police announced.
