Even this new year has not begun without incidents from fireworks.
During the New Year's Eve celebrations, as a result of the setting off of fireworks, 20 people were reported injured nationwide by 01:30.
According to police, among them is a 13-year-old minor, who suffered a scratch on her forearm, suspected to be from a stray bullet, in Vaqarr.
Specifically, 16 cases have been reported in Tirana, 2 in Durrës, 1 in Lezha, 1 in Fushë-Arrëz and 1 in Korça.
"During the New Year's Eve celebrations, as a result of the setting off of fireworks, until 01:30 on 01.01.2026, 20 citizens were reported injured nationwide, without life-threatening injuries, as well as a 13-year-old minor, who suffered a scratch on her forearm, suspected to be from a stray bullet, in Vaqarr (16 cases in Tirana, 2 in Durrës, 1 in Lezhë, 1 in Fushë-Arrëz and 1 in Korçë).
Police services throughout the country are on full alert and continue to monitor road traffic, venues where celebrations take place, and the entire territory.
"The State Police wishes you a Happy New Year 2026! With trust and cooperation for greater security," the police announced.
