A tragic accident occurred this morning on the Gjirokastër-Tepelena road axis at the Bypass, where three young people lost their lives.
A Volkswagen car with license plate AB797VP collided with another Mercedes Benz vehicle with license plate AB552LV.
Klejdi Myftari, 24, and Anxhelo Ruci, 27, were traveling in the Volkswagen vehicle, and they tragically lost their lives.
The other vehicle was carrying citizens Martin Dulaj, 25, who died at the scene, and Arsida Demiri, 19, who was transported to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana.
Fortunately, the young woman is out of danger.
Police are at the scene and are working to determine the causes of the accident, while traffic on this road segment was difficult for several hours.
"Around 03:18, on the "Gjirokastër-Tepelena" road axis, at the place called "Bypass", the vehicle driven by citizen MD, 25 years old, resident of Tepelena collided with the vehicle driven by citizen KM, 24 years old, resident of Tepelena.
As a result of the accident, the two drivers of the vehicles, the passenger citizen AR, 27 years old, resident of Tepelena, lost their lives, and the citizen AD, 19 years old, resident of Delvina, was injured and is in the Trauma Hospital, under the care of doctors.
"The investigation team continues to work to fully clarify the circumstances of the accident," the police announced.
