New details regarding the event of the previous day, where a robbery with a firearm was reported in the Valias area, are coming to light.
Police sources indicate that the employee of a jewelry store, Luis Balliu, and the crime agent at Police Station No. 4, Egzon Mustavataj, were robbed at gunpoint by two people who have not yet been identified by the police.
It is known that they were robbed of a gold pendant worth 8 million Lek. According to the investigations, Balliu had the intention of selling the expensive pendant to another person with whom they had spoken on social networks and left the meeting at the place where the buyer had told him. The jeweler's employee, after having an expensive pendant, notified his friend, the police officer of Commissariat no. 4.
According to their testimony, after arriving at the place requested by the client, a black vehicle, type "Golf 5", with foreign license plates, stopped near them. Two masked people with hoods and scarves came out of the vehicle, one of them holding a machine gun in his hand. It is suspected that the perpetrator even shot in the air to scare the two people.
Then the other author opened the door of the car where Balliu and Mustavataj were and took the pendant worth 8 million old lek. Immediately afterwards, the jeweler's employee went to police station no. 5 and made the report.
The police officer had his service pistol with him at the time of the incident, but he did not use it. A cartridge suspected to belong to the perpetrators' machine gun was found at the scene.
