4 people have been put under investigation by the police, as they threw animal waste into open pits, acting contrary to the law.
A police operation has been developed to control the way animal waste is managed by entities active in this field (slaughterhouses and poultry farms).
Until now, checks and verifications have been carried out in 18 subjects in the districts of Tirana, Berat, Durrës and Fier.
In two entities in Berat and in two entities in Tirana, it was found that animal waste had been deposited in open pits in violation of the law and had not been handed over to entities licensed for their management. This illegality has caused pollution of the surrounding environment.
"The police operational plan will be extended to all districts. Controls within it are carried out by the Directorate for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes of the DPSSH, in cooperation with the sections for the investigation of these crimes in 12 local police directorates, with the objectives of protecting consumers, protecting the environment and guaranteeing a season safe tourist.
