Four people have been arrested as a result of their actions during yesterday's opposition protest.
The announcement was officially given today by the police.
"They carried out violent actions during yesterday's protest, throwing pyrotechnics (capsules, flares, Molotov cocktails) at police officers and a state institution, 4 citizens were arrested in the act and 6 were prosecuted at large. others.
Structures of Police Station No. 1, in the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana, at the end of the first investigative actions carried out in relation to the acts of violence, during the protest held yesterday, on 20.02.2024, based on collected evidence, arrested the citizens in the act:
– KT, 21 years old, AM, 18 years old, BK, 37 years old, and IS, 33 years old.
Following the actions, the following citizens were criminally prosecuted in a state of freedom:
– AI, 20 years old, R. Sh., 20 years old, MM, 20 years old, MS, 19 years old, GP, 22 years old, and D. Th., 21 years old.
During the inspection of the scene, the following were seized as material evidence:
– 21 cracked flares;
– 1 plastic drum 0.5 L, filled with fuel suspected to be gasoline, with an unbroken capsule;
– 37 plastic water drums, 0.5 L;
– 6 burnt plastic canisters, with the smell of gasoline fuel;
– 3 capsules.
Also, 110 capsules were seized as material evidence, which were found on these citizens during physical checks.
The investigative structures of the Tirana Local Police Directorate, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, continue the work to identify and capture other persons involved in illegal acts during yesterday's protest.
The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office, i.e. the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Tirana, for further procedural actions", the announcement states.
