A 31-year-old Albanian man lost his life in a car accident in Patra, as his motorcycle collided with a vehicle with Albanian license plates.
Erges Çobaj, 31 years old, from Vlora, was driving a motorcycle owned by a Greek, while driving on "Othonos Amalias" street, he collided with the vehicle with Albanian license plate AA797ZY driven by Natasha Saliaj, 48 years old, from Fieri but with residence in Corinth.
Saliaj's vehicle was moving on the same road and in the same direction as the motorcycle and they collided sideways. The vehicle then swerved to the right, hitting the road's protective bars. As a result of the accident, 31-year-old Çobaj lost his life. The 48-year-old woman from Fieri was initially arrested but was later released by order of the Prosecutor.
During the body check of the 31-year-old Çobaj, 50.9 grams of cocaine and about 2500 euros were found and seized. According to the Greek media, Çobaj, also known in Patra as "Stelios", was the person who had sent a gunshot wound to the hospital in Agios Nikolaos, on May 6, 2022.
The local prosecution is examining in detail his activity in the past in matters of narcotics trafficking, while in the recent past he has been arrested for similar offenses in another area by Oropo police bodies.
