Drunk at the wheel, AMP arrests police officer in Gjirokastra; 2 other officers

The AMP has arrested a police officer and suspended two other officers. The border police officer with the initials SK has been arrested after being charged with the criminal offenses of “Violation of traffic rules” and “Driving vehicles in an irregular manner.” He crashed a vehicle, leaving 2 people injured.

Meanwhile, two other employees have been suspended from duty, accused of “abuse of office.” They allowed a vehicle to cross the border without the proper documentation, failing to follow legal procedures, with the intent of trafficking.

" The Police Supervision Agency (Vlora - Gjirokastra Region) has arrested in flagrante delicto the police officer, Inspector SK, a border police officer at the DVKM Gjirokastra, suspected of committing the criminal offenses of "Violation of road traffic rules" and "Driving vehicles in an irregular manner."

The police officer, while driving a “Seat” vehicle, collided with another vehicle, resulting in injuries to the passengers of the Opel vehicle, citizen AR and minor citizen GR, who after receiving first aid were taken to their apartment and are out of danger. The alcohol test showed a positive result.

Also, the Police Supervision Agency (Vlora - Gjirokastra Region) has implemented the order of the Prosecutor's Office for the execution of the decision of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Gjirokastra, which has imposed the security measures of a prohibitive nature "Suspension of the exercise of a public duty or service" for 2 police officers, suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Abuse of office";

"From the in-depth and intensive investigations under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra, it became possible to document and provide evidence on the suspicions that these police officers had allowed the passage of the "Toyota Avensis" brand vehicle into the territory of the Republic of Albania without the relevant documentation, without following legal procedures for the purpose of trafficking.
