They were caught with 1.1 tons of cocaine, how 7 Albanian traffickers fell into

Details emerge from the arrest of 7 Albanians and a Spanish citizen, after they were caught with 1.1 tons of cocaine on a raft.

Spanish media report that at the time of their arrest, the crew had spent 19 days at sea, in poor conditions.

It is learned that in order to withstand the sea and preserve their cargo, the traffickers were only allowed to sleep for one hour a day. While at the time of their arrest, they were also offered the medical assistance they needed.

"La Voz de Galicia" reports that the boat in which the Albanians were sailing was 12 meters long, without a cabin and the space designated for the crew was constantly filling with water. Supplies, bottles of drinking water and fuel were found inside.

They were handcuffed in the Rego do Alcalde area, in the same area where another raft with similar characteristics appeared on Christmas Eve.

As part of "Operation Barona", police seized a pistol, vehicles and communication equipment.

Since November last year, this Albanian organization based in the Salnés region has been under surveillance. In mid-December, the speedboat was found to be heading out to sea with four people on board, and in the early hours of Wednesday, police officers caught them red-handed as they were unloading the goods. Spanish police also arrested those who were preparing to load and transport the cocaine.
