A 43-year-old man has been arrested by the Police in Durrës, after being declared an international wanted man.
The arrested person is Rexhep Muka alias Kreshnik Muka, a resident of the village of Shënavlash.
Authorities explain that Muka was wanted by Interpol Rome after the Court of Appeal in Cagliari, Italy, sentenced him to 12 years in prison for drug trafficking in 2021. Of this sentence, he still has 9 years and 6 months left to serve.
Albanian authorities are working to extradite the 43-year-old to Italy.

A wanted man, convicted in Italy for drug trafficking, is located, captured and put in handcuffs.
The services of the Special Operations Force Directorate at the Criminal Police Department, in continuation of the investigative work to locate and capture internationally wanted persons, based on the information provided, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Operation 82".
As part of the operation, in the city of Durrës, the Operational Forces in cooperation with the Durrës DVP, made it possible to locate, identify and detain the internationally wanted person, citizen Rexhep Muka alias Kreshnik Muka, 43 years old, resident of Shënavlash, Durrës.
This citizen was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Rome, Italy, after the Cagliari/Italy Court of Appeal, in 2021, sentenced him to 12 years in prison (9 years and 6 months left to serve), for the criminal offense of "Trafficking in narcotics".
"Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Interpol Rome, is continuing the procedures for the extradition of this citizen to Italy," the police announced.
