A serious gun attack occurred this afternoon in Lezha, killing a married couple, Kreshnik and Gentiana Mujeci, parents of 4 children. The victims were shot with over 30 bullets while traveling in their "Audi Q7" vehicle on the Balldren-Torrovica axis.
According to data from the field, the attack occurred while the couple was on the move, giving them no chance to react. It is reported that they had left a bar on the Lezhë-Shkodër highway a little earlier and were returning to their apartment, which is located about 30 minutes away from the scene of the incident.
It is also reported that the victim was not guarded and usually moved around accompanied by his wife. Preliminary evidence suggests that the perpetrators acted in an organized manner, and it is not ruled out that more than one vehicle was used to carry out and escape after the attack.
Police have surrounded the area and are continuing intensive checks to capture the perpetrators, while investigations are focused on fully uncovering the dynamics of the assassination.
"Around 14:50, at the exit of the village of Balldren, on the Balldren-Torrovica road, under still unclear circumstances and while driving, a gunshot was fired at an "Audi" type vehicle, driven by citizen KM, 39 years old, who was traveling with his wife, citizen GM, 32 years old.
As a result of the shooting, both died at the scene.
Police services, immediately after receiving the notification, arrived at the scene and are continuing to search the area to locate and apprehend the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, a special investigative group has been established and, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, intensive work is being done to capture any evidence that will serve the investigation, with the aim of fully clarifying the circumstances, legally documenting the event, and identifying and apprehending the perpetrators," the police statement said.
