The police of Elbasan arrested today a 57-year-old man and prosecuted his 65-year-old brother after an arsenal of illegal firearms was found in both of their apartments.
During the police operation, 1 Kalashnikov firearm, 1 shotgun, 3 pneumatic guns, 1 trophy rifle, 1 pair of binoculars, 2 magazines, combat ammunition and 1 cutting tool (knife) were found and seized in the apartments of the 2 brothers.
In the meantime, the procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of Elbasan General Jurisdiction, for further actions.
"Elbasan/The coded police operation "Brothers", against the possession of weapons without a permit, is completed.
The operation was carried out by the Elbasan Police Station, as a result of the investigation with proactive methods of the information provided by the police intelligence.
During the operation, 1 Kalashnikov firearm, 1 shotgun, 3 pneumatic guns, 1 trophy rifle, 1 pair of binoculars, 2 magazines, combat ammunition and 1 cutting tool (knife) were found in the apartments of the 2 brothers.
One of the brothers is put in handcuffs and the other brother is processed in a free state, due to health reasons.
The services of the Elbasan Police Station, following the work to identify and crack down on the criminal activity of illegal possession of firearms, in implementation of the measures defined in the nationwide operational plan "Rule of Law", have provided information on 2 cases of possession of firearms.
This information was investigated with proactive methods, at the direction of the Prosecutor's Office of Elbasan, and as a result, the coded police operation "Brothers" was finalized.
As part of this operation, in the village of Gjergjan, in the residences of citizens AM, 65 years old and BM, 57 years old, the Police services found and seized as material evidence:
1 Kalashnikov firearm with 2 magazines of 80 rounds;
1 semi-automatic shotgun;
1 rifle firearm (trophy);
2 pneumatic rifles;
1 pneumatic gun with mounted binoculars;
1 pair of binoculars;
1 cutting tool (knife) combined with punch booster.
Following the procedural actions for these cases, citizen BM, 57 years old, was arrested red-handed, and his brother, citizen AM, 65 years old, was processed in a state of freedom, due to health reasons.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of Elbasan General Jurisdiction, for further actions ," the police announced.
