Bomb threat at Rinas airport, Anti-terrorism: The email was sent by a Russian

A Russian citizen has been indicted in Albania on charges of threatening to commit acts for terrorist purposes and will be tried by the special court in Tirana.

Vladislav Urban, 48, is wanted by local authorities after being identified by the capital's prosecutor's office as the person who alerted law enforcement agencies two years ago about a bomb he allegedly planted at Rinas Airport. The threat was sent via e-mail and after thorough checks at the airport, an investigative group, including the anti-terrorist unit, were deployed to search for the threat maker.

Anti-terror discovered that the email was sent from Greece and was authored by Russian citizen Urban. This was enough for the Tirana prosecutor's office to request the data of this citizen through registered mail, for whom the Greek justice system has informed that the 48-year-old Russian had a history of threats from authorities in this country as well.

According to the partners, Vladislav Urban was held in prison for this matter and when he was sentenced by Greek justice, he managed to escape.

After additional information was gathered about the 48-year-old man who was taken into custody, the Tirana Prosecution Office has submitted the file for jurisdiction to the Special Court, which means that the charges against the Russian will now be represented by SPAK. The file is in the preliminary phase and will be reviewed by Special Judge Rudina Palloj./ TCH
