A 27-year-old man was arrested by the police after blackmailing a 15-year-old minor girl through social networks.
27-year-old Benard Çullhaj had created fake profiles for minors on social networks and blackmailed her to send intimate photos/videos, as well as to have sex with her.
The latter had declared during a conversation with the young man that he would kill himself after Benard Çullhaj blackmailed him.
After the investigations, 2 more cases were discovered where the arrested person had threatened 2 other minors in the same way.
"A serious criminal event of sexual harassment on social networks of a 15-year-old minor that could have serious consequences was prevented in record time by the Cybercrime in Tirana DVP. A citizen is put in handcuffs. 2 old events are revealed. Hundreds of footage, photos/videos, Tik-Tok profiles and other social networks are seized, which will be subjected to a deep investigative analysis. Specialists of the Sector for the Investigation of Cybercrimes in DVP Tirana, after the report made by a 15-year-old minor, that a citizen had opened fake profiles on social networks and blackmailed her to send intimate photos/videos, as well as to had sexual relations with him, they immediately organized the work to identify and catch the perpetrator.
As a result, after a very fast, dynamic and genuine investigation, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana, within the coded police operation "The Intimidator", in cooperation with Police Station No. 5, citizen Benard Çullhaj, 27 years old, resident in Tirana, was arrested.
From the verifications carried out, it turned out that this citizen opened fake profiles for a 15-year-old girl on social networks, blackmailing her to send intimate photos/videos and to have sex with her. Also, from the investigative actions carried out, two other incidents of this criminal nature have been documented, with the 27-year-old suspected perpetrator and two 15- and 16-year-old victims. The procedural materials for this case were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action. Taking into consideration that these cases bring serious consequences, the Sector for the Investigation of Cybercrimes in the DVP Tirana, calls on all users of social networks, mainly women and girls, that at any moment they will find profiles with data or their photos, who will feel insecurity or fear, to be presented near our offices in DVP Tirana, to file a report" , the police announcement states.
