Durres Customs has seized cocaine, four diamonds and a device for detecting precious metals.
A quantity of narcotics suspected of being cocaine, four precious stones suspected of being diamonds and an electronic device for detecting precious metals were seized during controls carried out at the Port of Durres.
According to the official announcement, the action was carried out by Durrës Customs in cooperation with State Police structures, as part of increased controls on vehicles and passengers arriving from Italy.
During the inspection of a vehicle arriving on the Ancona-Durrës ferry, a suitcase containing an electronic device for detecting precious metals, along with its accessories, was discovered.
In another case, during a physical search of a citizen traveling by vehicle from Italy, authorities found four transparent packages containing stones similar to diamonds.
Meanwhile, a suspected amount of cocaine was discovered in another vehicle, hidden in a garment placed in the driver's cabin.
All seized materials have been referred to the competent structures for further procedural and investigative actions. Authorities are continuing verifications to accurately determine the nature of the narcotics and the authenticity of the seized precious stones.
