Two Albanian citizens, aged 23 and 34, have been arrested in Teramo, Italy, after they are accused of turning a parking lot in the Villa Zaccheo–Petriccione area into a small drug market.
The operation was carried out after anonymous reports reached the Teramo Police about suspicious movements in the area. Officers of the Flying Squad kept the young men under surveillance and caught them red-handed while they were exchanging drugs for money.
According to Italian authorities, the two Albanians were selling five doses of cocaine to a person. An immediate search of the vehicle revealed five more doses of the narcotics, while materials for drug packaging were found in their apartment.
Police also seized 1,450 euros, which are suspected to be proceeds from illegal drug distribution activity.
The arrested have been placed under house arrest pending a security measure verification hearing, while the possibility of an expedited judicial procedure is not ruled out if they plead guilty.
