A surprise raid by the Greek FBI at the Koridhalos prison took place in the early hours of Saturday.
The raids were carried out in 10 cells, 3 rooms of the Central Prison Materials Warehouse, and there were checks on 31 prisoners.
The operation was attended by police officers from the Counter-Narcotics Sub-Directorate and the Crimes against Life and Property Sub-Directorate and the Intelligence and Special Operations Sub-Directorate of the Hellenic Police, as well as the Special Counter-Terrorism Unit (EKAM) and a Police Dog.
In this context, criminal charges were filed against two prisoners, who were caught in possession of mobile phones.
In total, during the investigations, the following were found and seized: -2- nylon packages of processed cannabis (chocolate) with a total gross weight of -2.75- grams; -4- mobile phones, SIM card, white charger and charging cable.
The control comes after two incidents in recent weeks involving Albanians. Jani Aliaj was killed in Koridhalos, while a few days ago Dhimitër Meçi, who had also just been transferred from Koridhalos to Malandrino, was stabbed.
