A 22-year-old man was arrested by the police in Tirana. He was caught moving with a handgun.
The authorities seized the pistol with a comb and combat ammunition, as well as cannabis seeds, which were found on the 22-year-old during the search of the apartment.
From the information received, it is suspected that the young man had the firearm to sell.
" In implementation of the measures defined in the nationwide operational plan "Rule of Law", the coded police operation "Arbana" was finalized. The operation was carried out by the Section for Illegal Traffic, in cooperation with the Special Force Shqiponja, in DVP Tirana.
Caught in the act, moving armed, a 22-year-old man is handcuffed. Seized as material evidence, the firearm, pistol with comb and military ammunition, as well as cannabis seeds, which were found on the 22-year-old during the search of the apartment.
The services of the Section for Illegal Traffic in DVP Tirana, in cooperation with those of the Shqiponja Special Force, following the work to prevent and attack criminal activity in the field of illegal weapons possession, based on the information provided on the operative route that in near the Teg roundabout, there was an armed citizen, they immediately organized and finalized the police operation coded "Arbana", for his capture.
As a result of this operation, a citizen of RM, 22 years old, resident of Arbana, was arrested in the act. During the control of the RM citizen, the police services found and seized, as material evidence, a firearm, a pistol with a comb and combat ammunition.
Following the actions, during the control of his apartment, the Police services found and seized quantities of combat ammunition as well as suspected cannabis seeds. From the information received, it is suspected that this citizen had the firearm to sell. Work is being done to identify other persons involved in this criminal activity. Following the actions, his arrest was made in flagrante delicto and the procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana, for further actions", announced the police.
