The Elbasan Prosecution Office has initiated criminal proceedings for the criminal offense of "Violation of occupational safety rules" against the administrator of the Chrome mine in the village of Katjel in Prrenjas, citizen Gëzim Balla, technical manager Hysni Kllogjri and the shift manager.
The criminal proceedings began after miner Syrja Bego, 57, lost his life in the mine on Monday afternoon, when a massive rock broke away, crushing the 57-year-old, who died instantly.
The investigative group led by the Prosecutor's Office has continued investigative actions to fully clarify the circumstances and legally document the event.
"Following the announcement made yesterday about the incident that occurred in the village of Katjel, where a mass of mineral slid during work in the chrome mine, resulting in the death of citizen SB, 57 years old, the investigative group led by the Prosecutor's Office has continued its investigative actions to clarify the circumstances and legally document the incident.
Following the actions, the Crime Investigation Specialists of the Librazhd Police Commissariat referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office where criminal proceedings were initiated for the criminal offense of "Violation of occupational safety rules", against the mine administrator, citizen GB, 56 years old, the technical manager citizen HK, 62 years old, and the shift manager citizen GK, 62 years old.
The materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further procedural actions," the police statement said.
