
Three people have been arrested in Tirana and 4 others have been put under investigation, as they were throwing inerts in different areas, causing environmental pollution.
Tirana Police announces that each of the arrested has been fined 1.5 million new lek, so the total value of the fine is 4.5 million new lek.
"The structures of the Tirana Police, fully committed to combating environmental crimes and the rule of law in the territory. 3 citizens who were caught red-handed discharging inerts, in different places, and 4 others are prosecuted. For each case found, an administrative measure was taken by the IKMT in the amount of 15 million old lek.
The services of the police stations under the Tirana DVP, following the work to combat illegalities in any form of their manifestation, have intensified field controls, for the prevention, identification and combating of environmental crimes. During the controls of the territory to ensure that it is as safe and untouched by environmental crimes as possible, the Police services monitored places where illegal activity in the field of environmental crimes was suspected. As a result of the checks carried out, the following citizens were found to be transporting and unloading inert materials and were arrested in the act:
- QL, 46 years old, resident in Tirana, for the criminal offenses "Usage of land" and "Invasion of land", provided by articles 199 and 200 of the Criminal Code;
- AR, 27 years old, FN, 59 years old, resident in Tirana, for the criminal offense of "Waste Management", provided by Article 201/ai of the Criminal Code.
Also, citizens LM, 58 years old, FH, 52 years old, PV, 29 years old, and MM, 40 years old, were processed in a free state. The documents of the 6 vehicles (trucks) with which these citizens were found have been blocked, while the vehicles have been left in the custody of their owners. The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Tirana, for further actions," the police announced.
