The Special Court rejected the request of the legal defenders of the lawyer Arben Lena for a change in security measures.
Lena is under security arrest in prison for the criminal offense of exerting illegal influence on persons exercising public functions.
He was arrested on January 27, while he is accused of being part of a group of 5 people who tried to bribe the judges of the Court of Appeal of Korça with 5,000 euros, in order to release Bledar Kozici, who was arrested for refugee trafficking, from detention.
The scheme was struck on December 26, 2023, where 3 people were left in prison, 1 under house arrest and another 1 under mandatory appearance. Realtors Nikoll Hafesllarin and Nikoll Jeskun would receive 5 thousand euros from the family member of the arrested, Artiana Kozici, while according to SPAK, the lawyer Dajana Kodra is also involved.
