Wanted by Italy, the Albanian is arrested in England; the name is revealed

An Albanian wanted by Italy for human trafficking and possession of stolen goods has been arrested in England.

"European Arrest Warrant" has published the arrest warrant documents for Gjergj Lufaj.

Italian justice has filed 38 charges of human trafficking. While a second arrest warrant against the 41-year-old Albanian is related to possession of stolen items.

Both arrest warrants were issued in 2022.

The location and arrest were carried out by Bedfordshire Police in the town of Besford.

Gjergj Lufaj appeared before the extradition court in London on Wednesday March 6, 2024. He will appear before this court again on March 13.

The serious nature of the charges denied him parole. Gjergj Lufaj will remain in custody during the entire extradition process.

In Albania since October 2023 he is re-registered as a co-owner of a company in Mamurras for the sale and rental of vehicles.
