The Serious Crimes Sector in Durrës captures the wanted citizen Agron Bejdolli, the right wing of Rrumi t Shijak.
This citizen is under security arrest in prison for "illegal deprivation of liberty (hostage taking)" in collaboration with Rrum, the two brothers Indri and Gentian Beqiraj in October 2022.
Bejdolli was caught in the house of one of his cousins in Spitalle, Durrës.
How did the hostage taking of the Beqiri brothers happen?
In 2022, the two brothers Gentian and Indrit Beqiri, who were hired killers and were planning the execution of Aleksandër Laho, (Pëllumb Muharremit)' known as Rrumi i Shijak', were taken hostage. The two brothers then cooperated with the authorities, and gave important details about several assassinations carried out in Tirana and Durrës.
Among the names mentioned by them was Agron Bejdolli, who is the strongest link of Rrum.
It is suspected that the Beqiraj brothers had previous acquaintances with Agron Bejdoll, who is known for his close ties with Aleksandër Laho, otherwise known as Pëllumb Muharremi or Rrumi. The brothers Indri and Gentian Beqiraj had a conflict on the highway with Bejdoll.
In October 2022, the two brothers were traveling by motorbike from Durrës towards Tirana, when a vehicle cut their way near the Maminas overpass. The Beqiraj brothers were beaten with the 4 people who were in the car, one of them was identified as Agron Bejdolli, who was declared wanted.
The perpetrators took one of the brothers, Indrit Beqiraj, hostage in their car, but released him after walking 500 meters, as soon as they said they were being followed by the police.
Who is Rumi i Shijak, or Aleksandr Laho?
Filed several times for serious criminal events, most of which have not been proven, "Rrumi" was injured with a bullet in the jaw, during the assassination attempt against prosecutor Arjan Ndoja several years ago. He is known as the "strongest" of Shijak, but his "deeds" are numerous.
Everyone calls him by the nickname "Rrumi", while the police say that he has changed his name at least twice. Initially, it was called Pëllumb Muharremi, then Landi Muharremi, a name which is often recorded in the registers of the Police of Durrës, but also of Tirana. While recently, he had changed his name again and appears in the documents as Aleksandër Laho.
Earlier, he was arrested as involved in the barbaric beating that was done to the Lebanese businessman, Faad Mitri, at the intersection of Rinas, precisely because of a property conflict in Lalëzi Bay, one of the main tourism areas in the country.
The issue of properties in Lalëzi Bay is suspected to be the cause of the assassination of former judge Skerdilajd Konomi.
The first lead they investigated was homicide in the line of duty. However, this track quickly fell due to the fact that the deceased was a judge of the First Degree in the city of Vlora and had not judged sensational cases that would justify the well-organized assassination attempt against him.
For this reason, the investigations were moved to the issue of properties on the coast of Durrës and Kavaja, where Konomi had benefited in 2009 through a decision of the Supreme Court of 300 hectares of inherited land in the name of his wife.
Since that time, the property in question has often been talked about in the media as coveted and partially privatized through overlapping and forgeries by criminal groups in Durrës, where Landi Muharrem's name has also been mentioned in some cases.
Also, "Rrumi" is suspected of having a clash with Plaurent Dervishaj of the Durrës Gang regarding the properties in Lalëzi Bay. So it seems that for the properties in Lalzi Bay there was a strong clash between the crime bosses.
