51-year-old Andrea Kalemi, also known as Adriatik Kalemi, who was stabbed in the "Koridhalo" prison in Greece, by a 28-year-old Egyptian, is not an unknown name for the Albanian police. He survived an assassination attempt on August 10, 2023 on the Greek island of Pax.
It is suspected that this assassination was done to settle accounts and that the Albanian assassin went from Italy to carry out the assassination. As a result of the barrage of bullets, the 52-year-old was seriously injured. Andrea Kalemi, close to Aleksandër Sadikaj, is suspected of being involved in the murder of Edmond Papa in December 2022. He was shot at least 10 times in the eyes of his three children and his wife by a person who had his face covered and has left without being noticed by anyone.
In 2001, he was arrested by the RENEA special forces. He was wanted internationally by the Belgian justice authorities, after he was accused of having killed the Albanian brothers Mevlan and Adriatik Çaça in collaboration with his brother Fatmir Kalemi, an event that took place in Anderlecht, Belgium, on April 13, 2001.
In 2017, he was arrested in Tirana together with 2 other people because, being under the influence of alcohol, in cooperation with each other, they opposed the police officer on duty, disrupting public order and peace, while a fourth person who was with them he hit police officer E. V. on the head with an iron rod, who was taken to the hospital.
In 2022, Kalem's cousin, Aleksandër Sadikaj, was killed by an explosive explosion. A few months later, businessman Edmond Papa was executed in Tirana as a sign of revenge for Sadikaj's murder. Andrea Kalemi's friend, Albano Velo, was arrested for the Pope's murder, and another friend, Andreë Bode, is being sought. Kalem's name is also mentioned in the investigative file.
