An Albanian was injured at a construction site while working with a concrete mixer in the Florence area on April 27.
The incident occurred in Castelfiorentino, Empoli, when the worker was hit by a concrete mixer and suffered serious injuries. Unfortunately, three days after the accident, despite the efforts of doctors, he could not survive his injuries and was reported to have died.
The truck he was driving overturned, causing serious injuries. The worker was taken to a Florence hospital by helicopter, with a critical prognosis.
The Carabinieri are investigating, along with the local health authority's accident prevention staff.
"When the accident occurred, the man was working in Via di Mellicciano in Castelfiorentino. A team of firefighters and occupational medicine officers also responded to the scene. After being intubated on the spot by 118 emergency responders, the injured man was transported by Pegaso to the CTO Careggi hospital, where he arrived with multiple injuries and a code red, but unfortunately did not survive ," Italian media wrote.
The worker's name and details are not being released, as the incident is still under active investigation.
