Police have managed to capture a 49-year-old man who had escaped from his cell about two years ago.
According to an official announcement, the 49-year-old, resident of Tirana, convicted of the criminal offense of "attempted murder" left prison in 2024, on leave, but never returned to the cell.
From that moment on, he was declared wanted.
"Citizen EM, 49 years old, resident of Tirana, was arrested, who in 2024 was treated with a rewarding leave from the Penitentiary Institution, after serving his sentence for the criminal offense "Attempted Murder", but after the end of the leave he did not return to the Penitentiary Institution to serve the remaining sentence. After his arrest, he was handed over to the Penitentiary Institution in Rrogozhina to continue serving the remaining part of his sentence ," the police announced.
