A large-scale fire broke out on Thursday evening in a building on "Ali Demi" Street in Tirana, causing panic among residents of the area.
According to preliminary information, the flames have engulfed the first floor of the building under still unclear circumstances, while the fire has spread rapidly within the premises of the building.
As a result of the fire, an elderly disabled man has died, identified as Theodhor Llulla, 72. It is suspected that the victim died due to asphyxiation from smoke caused by the flames.
Firefighters immediately arrived at the scene, working to neutralize the flames and prevent the fire from spreading further in the building.
Ambulances have also been deployed in the area for any emergencies, while authorities are expected to clarify the full circumstances of the incident.
" Around 21:20, on "Ali Demi" street, on the first floor of the apartment of citizen Th. Ll, 72 years old, a fire broke out. As a result, it is suspected that the 72-year-old lost his life. The investigation team is at the scene and is working to determine the cause of the fire and fully clarify the circumstances of the case ," the police announced.
