An Albanian has fallen into the hands of the Spanish police and three others have been declared wanted after being accused of drug trafficking.
Investigators from Spain's Atarfe Civil Guard discovered last November that at least 4 Albanians were part of a drug-trafficking criminal group and that they kept marijuana in a house in Otura, drugs that would later be distributed to various locations in Europe.
Investigators organized a surveillance around the house to try to identify all the people connected to this drug trafficking gang and during these investigations they saw a Renault Kangoo van leaving the house with one of the suspects. Officers attempted to catch the vehicle, but the driver sped away. In fact, the civil guard who stopped him was hit and injured.
After following the vehicle along the A44 towards Motril, officers saw the van leave the motorway near Lecrin. Shortly after, they found it abandoned and saw the suspect running. The police managed to catch him and arrest him. After the arrest, it was determined that the van was loaded with more than 67 kilograms of vacuum-packed marijuana.
The next day, the Civil Guard requested authorization from the Court of Granada to carry out a search of the house suspected of serving as a drug nursery, where another 25 kilograms of vacuum-packed marijuana, ready for transport, were discovered. The other three members of the gang had absconded, although they have been fully identified and are being sought.
The only detainee so far has entered the Albolote prison after being made available to the Granada Task Force Court. This action of the Civil Guard is part of the "Miller" operation, an operation being carried out by the Civil Guard at the national level against the cultivation and illegal trafficking of marijuana.
