A family crime happened in the early hours of the morning in Tirana on "Xhanfize Keko" street.
The husband, 52-year-old Jakup Shahu, hit his wife with a cutting tool on the body and neck.
The incident happened in the couple's apartment around 02:15. 46-year-old Edlira Shahu was injured and was taken to the hospital.
Six months ago, he was arrested by the Tirana police for violence, but he spent only three days in prison and was then released.
The cause of the injury in the early hours of the morning was jealousy, so he shot his 46-year-old wife Edlira Shahu with a knife. The latter is under the care of doctors at the hospital and is out of danger.
Shahu was arrested after today's event under the charge of attempted murder due to family relations remaining in the attempt.
On 23.05.2024, at around 02:15, on "Xhanfize Keko" street in Tirana, citizen J. Sh., 52 years old, allegedly hit his wife, citizen E, with a cutting tool on the body and neck Sh., 46 years old.
The 46-year-old woman is in the hospital under the care of doctors, while the suspected perpetrator was arrested in the act for the criminal offense of "Murder due to family relations", which remains pending.
The investigative group is working to clarify the circumstances of the incident, the police announced.
