Martin Kaza has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for the murder of brothers Dod and Augustin Gjini, who were suspected of having killed their brother.
He was extradited from Great Britain to our country in December 2017.
The history of blood feud between the tribes
On January 7, 1994, the city of Rrëshen was shocked by the murder of the Chief of Crimes, Ndue Kaza.
He was shot in the middle of the city by Dod Gjini, who fled the scene. Newspapers of the time reported that the killing occurred after the Crime Chief intervened to prevent an escalation of a conflict between two rival groups.
But 3 years later, before the perpetrators could be arrested and the families reconciled, in the city of Laçi, Komisar's brother took revenge, killing the 2 brothers Dod and Agustin Gjini.
Newspapers reported that the event took place at noon on July 3, 1997, where, according to them, two people had participated in the assassination. After 4 years, the Court of Kurbin found Martin Kaza guilty in absentia for the double murder, sentencing him to 22 years in prison.
