The Durrës Court has remanded in prison 26-year-old Arbër Xhaxhaj, who caused the fatal accident two days ago on the Dajlan Bridge.
The Durrës Court has imposed the security measure of "prison arrest" on Arbër Xhaxhaj, who caused the tragic accident on the Dajlan Bridge, where 18-year-old Vikena Greku lost her life as a result.
The young man lost control of the vehicle he was driving and fell off the Dajlan Bridge. As a result, an 18-year-old female passenger in the vehicle lost her life, while two pedestrians and Xhaxhaj himself were injured.
The young man is facing charges for the criminal offenses of "Violation of traffic rules", resulting in death, and "Irregular driving".
Investigations revealed that the 26-year-old lost control of the vehicle he was driving while intoxicated and, as a result of the speed of 130 km/h, the vehicle collided with the side barriers of the bridge and fell off the bridge.
The 26-year-old continues to be under the care of doctors, currently out of danger to his life, while the 2 injured pedestrians have received the necessary medical assistance and have returned to their homes.
