The Spanish prosecutor's office has requested prison terms of 4 to 9 years in prison under the charge of drug production and trafficking for 11 people of Spanish, Portuguese, and Albanian nationality.
The defendants were arrested red-handed while transporting large quantities of drugs such as cannabis, hashish and heroin, which were destined for sale in the province of Pontevedra, in Galicia.
The criminal group owned several cannabis plantations, in collaboration with another person who is believed to have passed away and who was one of the key individuals of the group.
The Spanish prosecution points out that the criminal group was well structured with each member having his own special task.
The trial for the 11 defendants is expected to take place on Tuesday at the Pontevedra Provincial Court.
