The rock massif that broke off from the mountain in the early hours of the morning trapped the 25-year-old in Përmet, while his wife and two-year-old child were saved.
In the other room of the apartment was the young man's mother, who also escaped without injuries.
The rock fell down a steep terrain and rolled about 100 meters. The movement of the rock was first dampened by a stop that made a few meters above the apartment before falling on the roof and trapping the 25-year-old for several hours.
After being pulled out by the police and fire brigade, the young man was taken to the hospital in Ioannina.
The head of the fire department in Përmet, Agron Pani, said that the situation was very difficult and it took a very delicate intervention to get him out of the apartment.
