A 36-year-old Albanian man was arrested by the Italian police in Ravena, after being accused of stalking a 46-year-old local woman.
It is suspected that the reason for the attack was the belief that he would not be able to get his residence permit, because of the woman he was chasing.
"A case of stalking, but without any romantic relationship or friction in co-ownership (marriage or engagement)," Italian media quoted law enforcement authorities as saying.
"Ilrestodelcarlino" writes that the suspect did not know the woman in question at all. The event took place in the Solarolo area and defended by the lawyer Luigi Filippo Gualtieri - also referring to the testimony or investigations by the prosecution, the 36-year-old (whose name was not published by the police), was determined that the "target" was the cause that he he could not get a residence permit.
And so, in the month of June he began harassing and stalking the woman: at least until last Friday night (August 9), when, among other things, he painted the wall of her house with a bloody hand. After that he was arrested for stalking and damage.
Even, as the prosecutor Silvia Ziniti pointed out in the request, "for this type of crime there is the possibility of extending the arrest if, as in this case thanks to the video surveillance system of the 46-year-old's house, there are clear images of the fact".
Yesterday morning, before judge Andrea Galanti, the 36-year-old man confirmed the reason for his hatred towards the woman. For him, after the confirmation of the case, detention began, pending the security measure and the expectation to reduce him to house arrest.
"It is not excluded the possibility that the arrested will also undergo a psychiatric examination" , writes the media in question.
According to the investigation, the suspect began to leave notes on the windshield of her car or stay for hours outside her house, to check on her and ring the doorbell. The same thing happened last Friday when he started following him from behind at noon. The woman sat down in the bar and the aggressor did the same thing, who, according to the victim's testimony, threw a glass and a bottle at her in an attempt to hit her, but fortunately without hurting her.
But it didn't end there. As she went out to return to the apartment, he addressed her with accusing words from behind:
"You ruined my life! You changed the way!".
He is once accused of threatening the 46-year-old's family, damaging her father's bicycle and the fiber phone booth. He also broke some ceramic pots in the yard, throwing them on the ground. He then tried to hit the 46-year-old's parents with some objects, until he started washing the walls with his bloody hand and was arrested.
