British media outlet Metro has published an article on a video shared on TikTok, showing a group of people purporting to be part of an Albanian gang raiding a "barber's house".

"The disturbing post shows masked men using infrared scanners on ordinary suburban streets to locate heat from cannabis grow lights. Once they find a target, they go inside. They pose for the camera with a trap song playing in the background, while the caption reads "f*** you," as the gang appears to be robbing the house," the article reads.

According to Metro, the footage continues with a man who appears confused and scared, wearing shorts and a T-shirt, who is thought to live or work in the environment in question. The camera then focuses on people holding cannabis plants. The article explains that the “weed houses” are equipped with advanced lighting and heating systems for cultivating the plants, an activity that can be very profitable. According to the media, the video aims to present the lifestyle of people involved in criminal activity.

The property shown in the video appears to be an ordinary suburban home and has not been identified. Based on the online footprint of the user who posted it, it is believed the footage was filmed in West Yorkshire.

Other footage on the same TikTok profile shows a masked person climbing the wall of a house and entering through an open window. Another video shows people observing a suspected cannabis cultivation facility. Some of the footage contains the Albanian flag symbol and slogans in Albanian. The article notes that the songs used have violent content, but no weapons appear in the video.

The Metro also refers to another group in east London. In Barking, a gang called Hellbanianz was filmed displaying guns, money, Rolex watches and luxury vehicles such as Ferraris. According to the article, the group has an influence in the Gascoigne area, and some of its members have been convicted after their online posts attracted the attention of the police.

The British media also mentions a criminal network in Southgate, north London, where human trafficking and drug dealing activities generate significant income. According to local security sources cited in the article, an Albanian gang based near Southgate station has strong control over the area.

Their presence, according to the article, is so visible that the area is known by some residents as "Little Tirana."

"We call it Little Tirana here. Albanian gangs have control over the community and there is a lot of fear of being eliminated [killed]. They have taken over some businesses and threatened others. It is related to human trafficking, protection racketeering and drug dealing. It is their territory and they are hiding in plain sight. We know who they are and where they operate. It has been reported to the police and they need to take action," he says.

The article goes on to state that the UK’s National Crime Agency uses the term “Albanian” to identify certain criminal groups. These groups are reportedly involved in the cocaine trade entering the country from Latin America and are believed to control a large part of the market, estimated at around £5 billion.

According to police estimates, they buy cocaine at prices of up to £5,000 per kilogram and sell it at lower profit margins to increase their influence in the market. The article concludes that large-scale drug trafficking activity has enabled these groups to secure significant financial resources and influence in various communities.
