The Shkodra Prosecutor's Office has launched investigations against medical staff in Shkodra, for the death of a 3-year-old child.
The criminal procedural material has already been referred and the Prosecutor's Office has registered criminal proceedings for medical negligence.
According to information from the hospital, the father initially took both children to the hospital, suspecting they had contracted the flu virus. After they received treatment there, he sent them home.
According to the Shkodra Regional Hospital, doctors followed all medical protocols, asking the family to keep the child under observation for further monitoring. However, according to them, the parents signed and chose to take him home.
The next day, the 3-year-old's condition deteriorated significantly, and his family brought him back to the hospital in very serious condition. He was immediately taken to intensive care, but unfortunately he did not survive.
Meanwhile, doctors provided immediate assistance to his sister, who was experiencing similar symptoms, and transported her to Tirana for more specialized treatment.
