The Korca Prosecutor's Office has closed the investigation a year after the serious incident in Korca, where the father killed his son Hamdi Bylykbashi and together with his wife tried to hide the crime.
The prosecution took the two parents of Hamdi Bylykbashi to court after presenting the incident as an accident.
In the official announcement of the Prosecutor's Office, it is stated that Shefki Bylykbashi is accused of committing the criminal offense of "Murder due to family relations" while his wife is charged with the criminal offense of "False declaration before the judicial police officer".

The Prosecutor's Office of Korça has brought to trial the two parents accused of the criminal offenses of "Murder due to family relations" and making false statements to the judicial police officer.
The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Korçë, closed the investigations and sent to trial the citizens of Sh.B. accused of committing the criminal offense of "Murder due to family relations" as well as the HB citizen for committing the criminal offense of "False statements before the judicial police officer", provided by article 305/ of the Criminal Code.
From all the evidence collected during the investigation for criminal proceedings no. 126/2023, it is proven that on 17.02.2023, around 4:00 p.m., a notification was received that he was transported by ambulance to the Emergency Department of the Korçë Regional Hospital. HB citizen received medical assistance, with head injuries. This citizen, a few moments later, died in the intensive care unit of this hospital. According to the first claims of the family members, he had fallen and killed his head in the courtyard of the apartment, being drunk.
From the investigative actions, it turned out that the event presented as accidental was actually a criminal event and at 02:00, on 18.02.2023, the father of the victim, citizen Sh. B., as a suspect for the commission of this criminal offense, specifically "Murder due to family relations", provided by article 79/ci Penal Code", who admitted to the crime.
A statement was received from the citizen HB, the mother of the victim, who stated that her son returned from France after divorcing his wife and since then he was consuming a lot of alcohol. She was with her husband in the apartment when she heard the sound of the patio door. They went out and saw Hamdi, who was bleeding from the head, and they brought him into the house. Which turned out not to be true.
As above, from the totality of the investigative actions carried out and the acts administered in the criminal proceedings, it is proven that the citizen Sh. B., has consumed the elements of the criminal offense provided for by Article 79/ci of the Criminal Code, since with his active, illegal actions, carried out intentionally, he killed his son, citizen HB
In this particular case, the author intentionally and with full will, as well as with the intention of killing him, hit his son on the head several times. He took and used a stone hammer and firewood as the crime weapon and after delivering the fatal blows to his son, he tried to cover up the crime as self-harm by the victim, reinforcing the idea that his actions in killing his son had were willful and intentional to bring about the desired consequence, the loss of the son's life.
The above, based on the requirements of Article 331 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance Korçë requested:
- Sending to court the criminal case No. 126/2023 with the defendant citizen Sh. B., accused of committing the criminal offense of "Murder due to family relations", provided for by article 79/ci Penal Code and with the defendant citizen HB, accused of committing the criminal offense of "False statements before the judicial police officer ”, provided by article 305/bi of the Criminal Code.
