Xhevat Lloshit, the well-known Albanian linguist, invited to the "Gallery" column at E Diell, has shared numerous stories with the public, both personal and professional.

Lloshi remembers a moment when together with Ismal Kadare they traveled to Ankara for an international conference. Kadare was attacked by some Turkish journalists who wanted to interview him, since at that time Kadare was known for his works related to the Ottoman Empire in Albania.

"With Ismail Kadare in 1954, we came as students to the faculty. In this photo we went to an international conference, here we were on our way to Ankara. And of course Ismail Kadare and Professor Aleksi were there, and I can say that when we were there and on the day we went to the conference, Turkish journalists came and attacked them.

Of course Ismail didn't know English at that time and I was forced to deal with them. They asked where Ismail Karade is, they wanted to interview him. In '79, Ismaili had become a very prominent figure. Since "The General of the Dead Army", Ismail gained an extraordinary place. But Ismaili also wrote a series of works in which he also deals with the issue of the Ottoman empire in Albania, therefore it is a very complicated relationship between the Ottoman concept and the work of Ismail Kadare", says Xhevat Lloshit.
