Conan O'Brien is making a big career move!
The 61-year-old will make his debut as host of the 97th annual Academy Awards, which will be held on March 2, 2025.
Commenting on Hollywood's biggest night show for the first time, O'Brien said:
"America asked for it and now it's happening: Taco Bell's new Cheesy Chalupa Supreme," adding, "In other news, I'm waiting for the Oscars."
Meanwhile, according to PEOPLE magazine, Academy CEO Bill Kramer and president Janet Yang said they are "thrilled and honored to have the incomparable star of 'Late Night' with Conan O'Brien as host."
"He is the perfect person to help lead our global film celebration with his great humor, his love of movies and his live TV expertise," they said, adding:
"His extraordinary ability to connect with audiences will bring viewers together to do what the Oscars do best – honor this year's spectacular films and filmmakers."
Additionally, PEOPLE magazine also confirmed in July that Jimmy Kimmel had turned down an offer to host the Oscars this year, which would have been his fifth time hosting the event.
