Prime Minister Edi Rama, also the Chairman of the Socialist Party, held the next meeting in Fier as part of the electoral campaign for the May 11 elections with the young men and women of this region.
He considered the electoral process to be quite important, especially for those who will vote for the first time, while considering May 11 as an encounter with history.
"There are no insignificant elections, but sometimes fate puts you on your shoulders, when on election day the task of choosing a party or an individual to lead the country, and the mission to move your country forward, meeting with history, are combined. May 11 is a meeting with history," said Rama.
He said that May 11 should not be seen as a competition between socialists and democrats, but as a day that serves European Albanians.
"These are the most important elections, just as important as those of 1992 when the DP was voted in for the historic change of the system and not because they were for the DP, but for the country. So are these elections of May 11, a meeting with history and for the fate of the country in European integration, to give it a European passport. We will share the history so far with the history that begins after May 11, which we will turn the history of our country with EU membership.
For the first time, the SP has a team that is the youngest on the ballot. And here in the Fier region, a boy and a girl who come directly from your ranks are not on the list of deputies, but are already two deputies of the youth of the Fier region in the Albanian Parliament. And on the list where you will make your choice, there are other girls and boys who come from your bosom. Never before has the SP asked for the commitment and support of young people as it is asking for on May 11. Not as socialists and democrats, but as European Albanians", said Rama.
