The political leader of the Euro-Atlantic Coalition, Lulzim Basha, together with the candidate for MP Shemsi Prençi, held a meeting with citizens in Bathore.
In his speech, Basha emphasized that the economic and social situation in the country is a consequence of government mismanagement and corruption, while Albanians on May 11th should bear in mind that either with their children and families, or with Edi Rama and his friends.
"The main and above all is either with the people, or with Rama and his friends. Why is the economy in this state? Because the money cannot be in the pockets of Rama's friends and in the pockets of Albanians at the same time. Opportunities cannot be the monopoly of Rama's friends, and at the disposal of Albanian youth. The two cannot coexist.
"Or with Rama's friends 7x7=313, or with Albanians. Or with your family, with your children, with your future, or with Albania, or with Rama. The two do not go together. We must convey this message clearly to the people," said Basha.
He further spoke about the Euro-Atlantic Coalition's program which aims to return public funds to the service of citizens, through tax cuts, subsidies, and investments in health and education.
"With our program, social policies are really there, they are costly, they are financeable because we will take the money of the shillings out of the pockets of Rama's friends, and we will return it to the Albanians, whether through tax cuts, subsidies, policies facilitating entrepreneurship, or investments in healthcare, so that the conditions of doctors and nurses are such that they do not consider abandonment and leaving as the first alternative. And most importantly, we will offer Albanians a dignified healthcare service.
Because today we spend 1.4 billion euros on the health of less than 2 million Albanians remaining in Albania. With the same amount, Italy manages to cope with the health problems of 5 million inhabitants of its society with European standards. So, the money is there, but the money is stolen. It is stolen by the friends of 7x7=313. Either with Ilir Beqaj at 7x7=313, or with the health of Albanians. This is quite clear and with the Euro-Atlantic Coalition, we will make sure that with this money, which is not lacking, there are 7.2 billion euros that the government has spent, this money goes to the health of Albanians, for the welfare and education of Albanians", he said.
Basha also touched on the issue of property, proposing the Croatian model as a final solution: Where the property is vacant, it is returned to the owner. Where it is occupied, the owner is compensated at market value.
"In our program, for the first time we take on the responsibilities of the right for the property issue. Why is there this chaos? Because the property issue was never resolved. On the contrary, problem after problem, 7501 instead of solving it, made property more difficult. The Gordian knot must be cut. Without solving this, there is no Albania in Europe.
How will we solve it, with the model that Croatia solved: where the owner's property is free, it is returned to the owner. Where the owner's property is occupied, occupied, the owner is compensated at market value. This is the basic principle. And then each property is registered according to the owner, or the actual owner, or the actual or legal owner if it is free, or compensation at market value.
"The bill is huge, it's nearly 8 billion euros. It will be divided into 15 or 20 years. But the state bond will be recognized immediately. And the moment this is resolved and the ambition, our objective is to resolve it within the first 2 years, at this moment Albania's financial collateral is twice as large as it is today," Basha said.
