Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu has stated that Jorgo Goro's resignation from the post of mayor of Himara after his arrest is a favor to the government, to avoid the decision to dismiss him.
Spahiu made the comments on the show "Now with Erla Mëhillin" on Euronews Albania, where he said that Prime Minister Edi Rama, both in the case of Fredi Beleri and in the case of Jorgo Goro, avoided the dismissal decision, in order not to politicize the issue .
This is because, according to him, Rama should maintain in the case of Jorgo Goros, the same standard as that of Beler.
" This seems to me to be part of a game, part of the whole game that is being played. The resignation came as a favor to the government, organized by the socialists themselves, to avoid the government's decision to dismiss. If Jorgo resigned, if he did not resign, the government would have to fire him.
In both cases, Rama avoided the decision and dismissal, in order not to politicize it as an issue. Which means that if he could not make a political decision as a government after Beler's arrest, he had to maintain a distanced attitude from Goro, to maintain the same standard. He did not do this either in the case of Shukri Xhelil, nor in the case of Safet, nor in the case of Bulqiza. I think of the resignation as an orchestrated game ," said Spahiu.
