The arrest of Ahmetaj, the Parliament issues an official announcement: On Monday, a special session for the approval of SPAK's request

The Assembly has issued an official announcement regarding the decision of the Council of Mandates to approve the prosecution's request for the arrest of former minister Arben Ahmetaj. SP and PD agreed today, while it has been decided to hold a special session on Monday afternoon.

" In the direction of the President, Mrs. Lindita Nikolla, the Council for Regulation, Mandates and Immunity met today. The Council continued the meeting with the same agenda as in the previous meeting, with the hearing with the legal representatives of the deputy, Mr. Arben Ahmetaj.

After the answers to the questions, the Council continued the discussions and decided that the reports will be presented within Friday, 14.07.2023 at 12:00 and the Special Plenary Session will take place on Monday, 17.07.2023.

The Council for Regulation, Mandates and Immunity approved the request of the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime, for granting authorization from the Assembly for the arrest/deprivation of liberty and the exercise of personal control/of the residence of the member of the Parliament of Albania, Mr. Arben Ahmetaj ", announced the Assembly.
