The vice-president of the official Democratic Party, Roland Bejko, said that the exit from the political scene of the former prime minister Sali Berisha would mark the "end of the transition" in Albania.
"History does not begin with Mr. Berisha, nor did Rama's regime begin today, when his troubles began, to be authoritarian, dictatorial, etc. For this reason, the tent was made, the mandates in the parliaments were handed over, they did not participate in the local elections and due to the manipulation of votes, Rama won power and the opposition lost. The point is that Berisha uses these, because those elements that must be solved by justice seek to be solved by political means. This is the conflict. A regime that Mr. Berisha and his own people is always signing more and more construction permits, with the same oligarchs, I do not accept this. They are together, and that is why I reacted today by saying that if I were a deputy in the hall, I would have voted for the removal of immunity of Mr. Berisha. Politically, the moment has come to say 'stop'. If it happens that Mr. Berisha leaves politics, this will be the beginning of the end of the transition, because the transition would also be completed with the exit from policies of Mr. Rama. This is Berishism," said Mr. Bejko.
For the democrat former prefect of Berat, Mr. Berisha and Prime Minister Rama have turned politics into a theater.
"We cannot go to the parliament to burn the chairs, the benches, light the flares, shoot the guards. That is why Berishism must be ended an hour earlier. It is a theater for which Rama has created all the conditions. He deprived it the opposition from the right to investigative commissions and Berisha is using this, while last year when we set up such a Bardhi-Alibeaj commission to investigate strategic investments on the coast, Berisha did not support it and came against it... Berisha helped Rama , passing a budget in the interest of the common oligarchs, with all the big strategic investments concentrated in four hands with the funds of the Albanian government. And Berisha came out a few days ago and said 'did you see what we did to Edi Rama?' ", said Bjeko for RTSH.
